Consumer Employer ModelThe Consumer Employer Model is an option for consumers to take total control over their in-home services. In this model, you control who is providing your services and when they are provided. The CE Model of Service Provision is an option for services under specific programs regulated by the Dept. of Public Welfare, Office of Long Term Living, Bureau of Home and Community Based Services. Under the CE option, Alleghenies UCP via CE Payroll Service acts as a Fiscal Management Service (FMS) assisting the consumer in necessary administrative work associated with providing CE services and operating a consumer personal care company.
Getting Started: Once enrolled as a Consumer Employer, hiring a Direct Care Worker can be as easy as filling out an application for your new employee and enrolling them in Workers Compensation Coverage. The Fiscal Management Service (FMS) Staff is available to guide you through the process.
Your Responsibilities:
Benefits: In this model, you find and choose who provides your personal care services. You schedule your Direct Care Workers giving you added flexibility for visits, doctors appointments, and allowing you to tailor your schedule to meet your individual needs.
Fiscal Management Service: Staff will assist you with any questions or issues that may arise as a result of your services. The agency prepares paperwork necessary for you to become a Consumer Employer. The agency withholds all appropriate taxes and pays your Direct Care Workers based on accurate timesheets. |
