Summer Direct Care Workers
The Direct Care Worker is responsible for providing in-home personal care and assistance in daily living tasks according to the daily routine of individuals who are physically disabled, mentally alert or mentally challenged. The duties will include, but are not limited to, bathing, feeding, housekeeping, laundry, errands and meals, changing, toileting and transfers to and from wheelchairs including the use of mechanical lifts. The schedule for a Direct Care Worker is flexible including day, evening, and weekend shifts. We are currently accepting applications for full time and part time positions in Cambria, Somerset, Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon, Fulton, Centre and Clearfield Counties.

- Starting wage is $8.50 per hour. Weekend/Holiday wage is $11.00 per hour.
- Experience a plus but not necessary.
Position Requirements:
- Must be 18 yrs of age and have proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- On the job training required to provide health maintenance.
- The ability to lift 75 pounds (proper lifting and transfer technique will be taught).
- Must have dependable transportation with a valid PA driver's license.
- Must Complete a 5-day orientation/training in Johnstown. Overnight arrangements can be made for those traveling over 50 miles one-way to the training.
- References checks.
- State Police, Childline Fingerprint Check and Child Abuse Clearance will be required.
- FBI Check may be required.
- Drug testing required.
Some individuals hired in temporary positions may be considered for regular employment at the end of the summer. If so, can qualify for:
