The Homemaker Program is a county funded program. Direct Care Workers provide light housekeeping duties and personal care if applicable. Instructional care is provided if the person is functionally capable but lacks the knowledge to carry it out. The Caretaker Relief Program is a part of the Homemaker program that offers respite hours (up to 309 hours per year) to the primary caregivers of a person with a disability.

 

Eligibility:

  • Ages 18-59
  • Must be a resident of Cambria County, PA
  • Must be eligible for Medical Assistance or meet financial eligibility criteria
  • Functionally unable to perform life essential tasks of daily living or care for dependents
  • Live alone or with other functionally disabled or dependent persons or have no family member or other responsible person available and willing to perform life essential tasks for the person and his dependents

 

Services Available:

  • Light Housekeeping Duties
  • Non-medical Personal Care (varies)
  • Respite (Caretaker relief only)
